Incited Media's biggest event to date is also the biggest event to ever take place on the internet, Live Earth. The 7-continent, 24-hour concert attracted the largest online audience in history, with over 55 million video streams delivered. Over 8 million people, with peak simultaneous viewership of nearly a quarter million people, watched more than 15 million video streams during the live coverage.
Our production team of about 80 technicians, editors, programmers, and translators worked around the clock to deliver footage of the seven-continent concert, providing live streaming of ten live feeds (nine stages plus a world feed) to liveearth.msn.com on behalf of Control Room Productions.
We edited all of the performances song-by-song, producing about 650 separate video-on-demand files for MSN. The majority of these files were then viewable online mere hours after the event had wrapped. Incited's state of the art system allowed quality control for every second of the online stream. It also enabled the Incited team to rapidly log the performances, produce still images of the performers, and provide easy organization for clearance of rights.
Nina Guralnik, GM for Control Room, had this to say:
"The logistics behind this event were complex to say the least, but working with Incited, who we have collaborated with in the past, was rewarding in that we knew home audiences worldwide would be able to catch any part of the show they were interested in at any time. They played a key role in our having a successful event."
